SOTU 2011, 10, or is it 09?

Same Old, Terribly Unbelievable address to the nation

Tuesday’s SOTU address varied from deja vu all over again to prime time in the Twilight Zone. We’ve heard all this before, from the same man.

Maybe it’s still 2010 – inherited the worst recession ever, high unemployment, massive debt, the president has the answer, the federal government will “invest in jobs” and “invest” in education. Actually this could be 2009 too.

Then the president says “The steps we’ve taken over the last two years may have broken the back of this recession..” No wait! It must be the 80s! Oh thank goodness!

But whoa! What did the president just say? “Sputnik”? Maybe it’s actually the 50s. Never knew that Ike was uh, well… so young.

SOTU 2011, 10, or even 09. Just another Same Old, Terribly Unbelievable address to the nation.

Liberals Have No Moral Center

January 21, 2011

For the left human rights are in the eye of the beholder

Where were they this week? The great human rights crusaders of the left. The compassionate who wailed over the CIA throwing water in the face of the mastermind of the September 11 attacks. Where were their consciences when our president feted Communist Chinese leader Hu Jintao?

Communist China ranks 10th in human rights violations: state censorship, suppression of free speech, religious persecution of Catholics and Buddhists, mandatory abortions and sterilizations, harvesting of human organs, arbitrary arrests, forced labor camps, true torture, extrajudicial executions.

President Bush, the left’s great Satan, refused President Hu Jintao the honor of a state dinner on the basis of China’s despicable human rights record. President Obama rushed to roll out the red carpet.

The difference? Liberals have no moral center. On the left, human rights are in the eye of the beholder.

Enough!

January 13, 2011

The president and his minions have us defending ourselves

Enough! There stood our president piously calling for “civility” as though oblivious to the divisive outrage produced throughout our country by his media lackeys. “A national conversation” Mr Obama called it.

And in asserting that the AZ tragedy requires that “we align our values with our actions”, the president tacitly endorsed the slanderous accusations that Saturday’s attack killing six people and wounding Rep Gabrielle Giffords was inspired by his political opponents.

But two paragraphs into an angry well documented post on Barack Obama’s own “civility”, and the civility of the distant left, common sense screamed Enough!

These people have us all foolishly dancing to their tune. No one on the right has anything to apologize for.

Just Another Day For The Obama Media

January 10, 2011

The president’s fifth column attempts to capitalize on the Gifford attack

It was sure as the sunrise. The moment the news broke on the barbaric attack on Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords there was no doubt that the lowest of the left were gearing up to lay the blame for the shooting on their “enemies” – Sarah Palin, the Tea Party and talk radio.

Within three hours of the shooting NY Times columnist Paul Krugman blogged that Gifford was targeted “because the Republicans nominated a Tea Party activist… and yes, she was on Sarah Palin’s infamous ‘crosshairs’ list”.

The following day, when the little that was known about the attacker indicated that mental illness was the most likely motivation, Krugman followed up with a full blown “editorial” dramatically titled Climate Of Hate. Pious Rev Al Sharpton linked the attack to “the senseless violence… in the social and political discourse of this country”. Daily KOS founding kook Markos Moulitsas tweeted “Mission accomplished Ms Palin”.

As the nation grieved and prayed it was just another day for the Obama media. Tragedies are there to be exploited.

“Militant” Atheists Are Conflicted Atheists

January 8, 2011

Religion obsessed atheists doth protest far too much

One might question left wing media polls that indicate atheism is on the rise in America, but there is no doubt that so-called “militant atheists” are becoming more aggressive.

David Silverman, president of American Atheists, is funding placements of the pictured billboard in the bible belt South. The following video clip is from Silverman’s appearance on the O’Reilly Factor in which Silverman argues the “facts” of atheism.

In his obsessive ranting against the existence of God, Mr Silverman does seem militant. As do those whose lives are wrapped up in endless “church and state” lawsuits.

But such obsessions actually belie the atheist premise itself and bring into question the true motivations of such people. These aren’t militant atheists. They are conflicted atheists.

The Foundations Of Responsible Government

January 5, 2011

Tea Party House shows long overdue reverence for the Constitution

Classes in the Constitution, reading the Constitution on the floor of the US House Of Representatives, reading bills before they are voted upon. What’s our government coming to?

Let us pray that we may once again be seeing the foundations of responsible government. A government responsive to the American people.

The completely irresponsible actions of congress over the last decade, especially over the last two years, clearly indicate that our elected representatives either have not understood, or had utter distain for, their oaths of office in which they swore to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States”.

Not the president, not their party, not their congressional caucuses. The Constitution.
