Crying She Wolf
NOW feigns “outrage” over abortion and Obamacare
Numerous reports abound citing rage on the distant left over President Obama’s alleged moderation on the final version of his “healthcare reform” bill. No “public option”, “opt out” clauses, backroom deals with the satanic health insurance industry and, most laughably, no provisions for abortion.
There are people who are apparently letting their guard down and luxuriating in a long sigh of relief. He’s listening to us. It won’t be as bad as everyone thought. Common sense and responsible government prevails.
Such wishful thinking is, well, foolish. Based upon Barack Obama’s rhetoric and personal associations during his entire career, the resumes of his cabinet members and “czars”, the radical nature of the democratic leadership and the extremist fringe groups they are beholding to, anyone who succumbs to complacent self delusion about what will come out of Washington on healthcare just ain’t thinkin’ right.
During the sad era of Roe v Wade no government entity has marched in more synchronized lockstep with the National Organization For Women on abortion than the Obama Administration. Acquisition of hard core pro-abortion credentials clearly appears to have been considered a rite of passage prior to consideration for membership on the president’s team.
The Chosen
The men and women President Obama has hand chosen for the most important positions in government constitute a veritable “murderers row” aligned against the unborn.
Rahm Emanuel
President Obama’s Chief of Staff carries a 100% favorability rating awarded by NARAL
Dawn Johnson
Former abortion rights attorney for NARAL, appointed Assistant Attorney General for the office of Legal Counsel. Some of Ms Johnson’s more memorable comments on the right to life describe pregnancy as “slavery”. “Abortion restrictions”, Assistant Attorney General Johnson has said, “reduce pregnant women to no more than fetal containers.”
“The argument that women who become pregnant have in some sense consented to the pregnancy belies reality…and others who are the inevitable losers in the contraceptive lottery no more ‘consent’ to pregnancy than pedestrians ‘consent’ to being struck by drunk drivers.”
Ellen Moran
Former Executive Director of the pro-abortion group Emily’s List is now White House Communications Director
Melody Barnes
Former Emily’s List board member is President Obama’s Director of The Domestic Policy Council
Jeanne Lambrew
Prominent abortion advocate, and former member of the Clinton administration, has been made Deputy Director of the White House Office of Health Reform. This selection was applauded by Planned Parenthood.
John Holdren
President Obama’s “science czar” at one time published a paper in which he endorsed forced abortions (rumor has it Holdren may have been offered the newly created post of Surgeon General in communist China- medical degree not necessarily required)
Thomas Pirelli
The lawyer who represented Michael Schiavo in his pursuit to obtain a court order allowing the starvation death of his disabled wife Terri, is now the third highest attorney in the Justice Department. Father Frank Pavone, who conducted a vigil at Terri’s bedside, has reported extensively that Terri’s death was anything but the peaceful, painless, dignified demise that Pirelli and Michael Schiavo portrayed.
Chai Feldblum
Ms Feldblum, a pro-abortion lawyer who formerly worked for the ACLU and the homosexual activist Human Rights Campaign Fund, is, as of October 9, the president’s most recent appointment to the Equal Employment And Opportunity Commission
And then there’s the Big Guy
President Obama, himself, has an impeccable reputation as an abortion on demand zealot sure to flutter the heart of any NOW babe. Rescinding the Mexico City Policy, restoring funding for the UN Population Fund, authorizing federal funding for the black hole of embryonic stem cell research and eliminating all funding for abstinence-only education programs may be pretty much what is expected of any democratic president beholding to Abortion Incorporated.
But how many presidents can boast about being the only voice of opposition to the Illinois Legislature’s Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, passed to protect the lives of babies who somehow survived an abortion, and to prohibit the “procedure” of intentionally inducing premature birth and leaving the baby to die for lack of medical care?
And how many presidents have publicly stated that they support abortion on demand because he would never want his daughter to “be burdened with a baby if she made a mistake”?
That’s the kind of abortion uber alles commitment that brought in the flood of campaign donations from the abortion lobby, including the National Organization of Women. As a side note, did it even occur to Barack Obama that the baby his daughter might one day “choose” to have dismembered and thrown into a dumpster would have been his grandchild?
There will be a government funded healthcare program included in the final healthcare reform bill. It will be designed to eventually lead to a government controlled single payer plan, ala the fiascos in Canada and Europe. It’s the only reason for the whole exercise. And there is absolutely no discord between President Obama and the National Organization of Women, or any other pro-abortion organization, on the inclusion of unrestricted abortion services in the “public option”.
All the feigned angst and outrage generated by the president’s most ardent supporters has been carefully choreographed by the White House. They want us lulled into a false sense of complacency and looking the other way.
Right before they stick in the shiv.
