Rejecting Emmanuel

December 21, 2010

God is no longer with us under Roe v Wade

Pro-choice “clergy” are quick to claim that there is no biblical foundation for opposing abortion. Granted “Thou Shalt Not Abort” was not blazoned into Moses’ tablets, but most would think that “Thou Shalt Not Kill” should be clear enough.

Among the many deceptions preached from pro-abortion pulpits, such clergy claim that the Bible says nothing about conception, pregnancy, and birth. Really? Must be referencing the New Planned Parenthood Standard Edition.

As Christianity prepares to celebrate the birth of our Savior, the child Jesus, we ask our pro-choice brothers and sisters to put aside the machinations of politically motivated clergy. Read and truly reflect upon the passages describing Jesus’ arrival.

There is simply no reconciling celebrating the birth of Jesus with supporting the mercilessness of abortion, which rejects God’s gift of children. Those who support Roe v Wade can no longer honestly pray “O Come Emmanuel”.

The “Greediest Generation”

December 14, 2010

The elderly and our “entitlements problem”

The most common question posed to republicans following the elections has been to the effect of “where, specifically, will you make spending cuts”? Translation: will you cut “entitlements, i.e., Social Security and Medicare.?

No republican, of course, fell for the bait. Social Security and Medicare used to be considered the untouchable “third rails” of politics. But with the nation $14 trillion dollars in debt, and Social Security and Medicare accounting for approximately one-third of the budget, the “entitlements problem” has apparently gotten some serious scrutiny by President Obama’s National Commission On Fiscal Responsibility and Reform.

The “debt commission’s” final report was scheduled for December 1st, but that’s been postponed. Which hasn’t restrained co-chairman former senator Alan Simpson, well known for the flannel nature of his mouth, from making it clear that there aren’t any third rails he fears.

To pull the country out of the canyon the Bush and Obama administrations have dug us into, Simpson says America will need to reign in the “entitlements” provided to what he calls the “Greediest Generation”.

Terri Schindler’s Birthday

December 3, 2010

Lest we forget

Today is Terri Schindler’s 47th birthday (we refuse to call her Schiavo). Terri and her family would have celebrated today but, lest we forget, Terri Schindler was the first person in America, who had not been convicted of a capital crime, to have been sentenced to death by our judicial system.

Unlike convicted serial killers, Terri did not die quickly and painlessly after the administration of an overdose of an anesthetic drug. A judge ordered that Terri Schindler be starved and dehydrated to death. And lest we forget, it took seven excruciating days of being denied food and water for Terri to die, during which time armed guards stood watch over Terri to prevent her family from even moistening her wretchedly cracked lips.

On the day she died, Terri Schindler became a “white martyr”, one who lived a sacrificial life. And on that day the culture of death in America ominously took on more of the power that Americans once left to God.

Overcoming The Unjust Judges

November 22, 2010

God will “grant justice to His elect who cry out to Him day and night”

In Luke 1:18-8 Jesus tells a parable about an unjust judge who neither feared God or respected man.

The judge is confounded by a widow who refuses to accept an unjust verdict. “A widow in that town kept coming to him, saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ For a while he was unwilling, but later he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or respect man, yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice, so she doesn’t wear me out by her persistent coming.’ ”

Then Jesus gives the lesson to be learned in the parable. If even a powerful unjust man, can be worn down by the persistent pleas of a powerless woman “Will not God grant justice to His elect who cry out to Him day and night?”

This is Our Lord’s message to the pro-life movement. And in reflecting upon that message we can see a direct correlation between the recently completed 40 Days For Life Campaign and the pro-life victories in the Nov 2 elections.

“Abortionist Wanted” Posters Contradict The Pro-Life Spirit

November 12, 2010

We are called to hate the sin but love the sinner

No one here likes to have to agree with Rachel Maddow, especially when the subject is abortion.

Maddow has been Abortion Incorporated’s media moll throughout the 2010 elections, demonizing pro-life candidates and harping non-stop about a republican controlled government that would “monitor every pregnancy in the nation” and force rape victims to bear children.

But Rachel Maddow has unfortunately been able to make one legitimate point. The impropriety of “Abortionist Wanted” posters that began showing up in North Carolina last month.

Not the point that Maddow thought she was so cleverly making – that pro-life demonstrators should be barred from public property anywhere within the vicinity of an abortion clinic.

No, the fundamental problem with “Abortionist Wanted” posters is that such activity contradicts the very spirit and goals of the pro-life movement.

Victories For The Unborn Across America

November 4, 2010

Pro-life candidates clean the House

America made its voice clear on a lot of things in Tuesday’s elections, repudiating President Obama’s progressive agenda across the board. Especially resounding was the country’s rebuke of the president’s merciless expansion of abortion evidenced in nationwide victories for the rights of America’s unborn children.

The House now has clear pro-life majority, pro-life organizations have proven to be powerful forces to be reckoned with in elections, and the “Year Of The Pro-Life Woman” has toppled feminist myths about women and abortion.

All in all, a day in which God smiled upon His people and the efforts of the pro-life community.

Come Home On Abortion November 2

October 30, 2010

Your choice on defending Jesus’ “Little Ones”

With the upcoming elections many Christians will again find themselves conflicted between the tenets of Christianity and the issue of abortion. As with every election, the proponents of abortion and the abortion industry have spent millions of dollars euphemizing and politicizing the horrible realities of abortion while demonizing pro-life candidates and distorting their positions.

Earlier this year we initiated our series on Bringing Christians Home On Abortion reaching out to those who have been misled on the truth of abortion in America under Roe v Wade.

But ultimately the decision on whether or not to help empower those who enable the 300,000+ abortions of helpless children in America each year lies between yourself and God.

Pro-Life Candidates Lead The Way On The Economy

October 19, 2010

Right on life is invariably right on the critical issues facing our nation

As the Tea Party started drawing national attention, and then began sweeping through the republican primaries, many Christian conservatives started asking where Tea Party candidates stood on life.

It seemed a legitimate concern. Tea Party rallies focused primarily on fiscal issues – taxes, spending, government controlled healthcare and the size of government. Nary a word about the right to life for all Americans.

No need to worry. The Tea Party backed candidates in the upcoming elections are, as far as we know, all pro-life, most receiving endorsements from prominent pro-life organizations and activists. And it shouldn’t be surprising.

A quick litmus test for candidates to lead us out of our economic morass is, in fact, their position on life.

“O Stupid Catholics Who Has Bewitched You?”

October 10, 2010

A parish priest’s message for pro-choice Catholics

We have often asked “Where is the Catholic Church” on abortion? Yes, Pope Benedict XVI speaks out adamantly and eloquently on the Church’s immutable stance on abortion as an “intrinsic moral evil”.

But messages from the Church hierarchy in America, the US Conference Of Catholic Bishops, have often been mixed. And the words and deeds of numerous members of the Catholic “establishment” have literally been scandalous in attempting to mislead America’s Catholics on their responsibilities in opposing abortion.

Since the 2008 election debacle, a few bishops have asked several notable pro-abortion Catholic legislators and government officials to refrain from presenting themselves at the communion rail. But the responsibility for guiding the Catholic faithful, and protecting their souls, on the issue of life cannot just be laid on the bishops. The guidance and admonitions must come from the parish pulpit, the parish priest.

One priest willing to lay it on the line for his congregation is Father Richard Perozich of Escondido, CA. Father Perozich recently wrote an article on the upcoming elections for his parish bulletin. For those of us wondering “where is the Catholic Church”, Father Perozich provides a clear message that we can hope all Catholics will take to heart.

Christian Indifference To America’s Nuremberg Law

October 2, 2010

Roe v Wade and the slippery slope to genocide

The majority of Christians who consider themselves “pro-choice” are not whole hearted supporters of abortion. Most would never consider abortion personally, nor support such a decision by a family member or friend. “Pro-choice” for such people simply amounts to “for anyone else, it’s legal and none of my business”.

But ask these same pro-choice Christians about their opinion of Germans who stood silent in 1935 when the Reichstag passed the Nuremberg Laws. The laws which stripped German Jews of their citizenship and legal rights. You’d get almost every answer other than it was “none of the German people’s business”.

Yet the Roe v Wade decision, pro-choice Christian brothers and sisters, promulgates exactly the same inhumanity, denying an entire group of citizens, America’s most helpless citizens, their fundamental right to life as stated in the Declaration Of Independence. Roe is, in fact, nothing less than America’s Nuremberg law.
