We are winning, but the obstacles cans seem overwhelming. Take some time
Eighteen months into the most rabid pro-abortion administration in the dark history of Roe v Wade, the pro-life community has achieved what should have been unthinkable. For the first time since 1973, the majority of Americans stand for the right to life. From conception up to the moment of natural death.
As said previously, we believe that this shift is a backlash directed toward Barack Obama’s ruthless pro-abortion agenda designed to offer completely unrestricted abortion available to women of any age, during any stage of pregnancy. And along those lines, the proponents of the culture of death continue to bring the full force of the federal government, now at their disposal, to bear on those committed to overturning Roe.
So despite the efforts of millions of of pro-life Americans, we are now witnessing a massive expansion of abortion services in our country, and tax payers are being forced to fund abortions, under the despicable guise of “healthcare reform”.
At some point the selfless giving in pro-life rallies, marches, seminars, webcasts, blogs, etc drains the last ounce of one’s ability to pursue the good fight. It doesn’t mean we are beaten. Far from it. We just need to step back and let it all go.
At least for a while, hopefully a week or more, life has to be all family, friends and a renewal of the joy of living.
Most importantly we need to restore our weary souls by spending some time, one on one, with Jesus. Trade your yolk for His. Offer up your disappointments, weariness, anxieties and the outright pain in all areas of your life to Him. No one understands the human condition as well as Our Lord, because He loved us enough to become one of us. And after all of the unspeakable suffering Jesus endured to bring us salvation and the path to eternal life, He is still willing to take on our burdens when they begin to seem overwhelming.
It’s an offer we are not meant to refuse. Breathe. Bask in the relief of His peace and love. It’s ours for the asking.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
When you come back remember that God knows the difficulty of the challenge before us. Let Him know, everyday, that we will utilize the talents and resources we have been blessed with in this struggle. Profess, everyday, our faith in Him as our overwhelming, inexhaustible resource and we will obtain victory for countless numbers of His unborn children.
