Planned Parenthood Charges Against DA Phil Kline Backfire

February 25, 2011

Planned Parenthood should never mention”ethics”

Planned Parenthood charging an opponent with ethics violations is akin to Bill Clinton pushing for a perjury investigation. Bound to backfire.

In 2007, District Attorney for Johnson County, Kansas Phil Kline filed 107 criminal charges, including 23 felony counts, against Planned Parenthood. Most involved the by now well documented pattern of PP “counselors” aiding and abetting statutory rape by concealing pregnancies of girls 14 or younger. Kline had also pursued similar cases against late term abortionist Dr George Tiller.

Prosecution has been  delayed due to allegations by Planned Parenthood of “ethics” violations committed by Kline during his investigations. He subsequently lost his bid for reelection in 2008. Hearings on the alleged violations began this week and, true to expectation, are recoiling smack in the face of PP.

Kansas Bar Association Disciplinary Administrator Stan Hazlett initiated the hearing claiming that DA Kline had mishandled patients’ confidential medical records and misled officials to advance criminal cases against Planned Parenthood and Tiller.

As the hearings began on Monday, evidence surfaced almost immediately that an internal investigation conducted 20 months ago by the Kansas disciplinary board for lawyers found no probable cause to justify Planned Parenthood’s charges. So what’s everyone doing at the hearing?

Simple. PP supporter Hazlett buried the report in some 22,000 pages of documents released to Kline’s lawyers in the discovery phase of the hearings and hoped for the best. Maybe the charges could derail the criminal case. It almost worked. The report only came to light by accident in another case.

The whole smear against Kline appears to have been orchestrated through the Kansas Supreme Court, stacked with pro-abortion justices appointed by former governor and abortion zealot Kathleen Sebelius. Sebelius, one of the few politicians ever willing to be photographed with the infamous Dr Tiller, has been a great beneficiary of Planned Parenthood largesse throughout her career.

Phil Kline has, for all practical purposes, been exonerated. Planned Parenthood, however, is wishing they’d never mentioned the word “ethics”.

During his sworn testimony, Kline revealed that he had uncovered 164 instances of 14 years-old girls and younger undergoing abortions at Tiller’s clinic and the Planned Parenthood clinic in Overland, KS. Under Kansas law, such girls are considered to be the victims of statutory rape and clinics are required to report these cases to the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services.

Not one of the 164 cases were reported. Just in one county, in one state. How many more sexual predators have been protected by Planned Parenthood across the nation?

These latest revelations piled on top of the numerous video exposés of the last few years clearly provide sufficient probable cause for a federal investigation into Planned Parenthood. Let’s see what our high minded president has to say about it.

The House has already voted to defund Planned Parenthood of the $330 million dollars in grants originally proposed in the federal budget. The left is smirking, sure that the measure will never fly in the Senate.

Let your democratic and RINO senators know that you are aware of the criminal conspiracies involving Planned Parenthood’s protection of statutory rapists and teen sex traffickers. Make them defend their votes to give your tax dollars to such an organization.
