“San Jose Articles” Establish An International Right To Life

The world is beginning to see the pro-abortion movement for the moral evil it is
The most transparent of abortion lies is “working to reduce the number of abortions”. And no one has ever used the “working to reduce the number” lie to greater effect than candidate Barack Obama who as president has proven to be the most radical of abortion zealots, using the power of the presidency to increase the potential for abortions in America and throughout the world.
As detailed in our previous post, the Obama administration has gone so far as to ruthlessly pressure third world countries to legalize or expand abortions by threatening to withhold crucial humanitarian aid on the basis of a United Nation’s fictitious “International Right To Abortion.”
But now a group of international experts in law, medicine, and public policy is countering this human rights obscenity. Their collective effort, published as the San Jose Articles, not only dispels any “international right to abortion”, but scientifically and legally establishes an International Right To Life.
The San Jose Articles were developed specifically to aid developing countries in countering the United Nations’ assertion, backed by Obama administration “legal authorities”, that under international law all UN member countries are bound by treaty to legalize abortion on demand.

“The San Jose Articles were prepared by a group of 31 experts in international law, international relations, international organizations, public health, science/medicine and government. The signers include law professors, philosophers, Parliamentarians, Ambassadors, human rights lawyers, and delegates to the UN General Assembly.”
“It is now commonplace that people around the world are told there is a new international right to abortion. Those delivering this message are influential and believable people; UN personnel, human rights lawyers, judges and others. The assertion they make is false. No UN treaty makes abortion an international human right. The purpose of the San Jose Articles is to provide expert testimony that no such right exists.”
“GOVERNMENTS should use the San Jose Articles to hold accountable United Nations staff who make false assertions or exert pressure on their government to liberalize abortion laws, or when international aid agencies make aid conditional on a their country’s acceptance of abortion.”
“The purpose of the San Jose Articles is also to demonstrate that the unborn child is already protected in human rights instruments and that governments should begin protecting the unborn child by using international law.”
In countering US efforts to use humanitarian aid as a weapon by which to coerce needy countries to legalize or expand abortion the articles specifically state that “LEGISLATORS AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS should use the San Jose Articles to help channel international aid to maternal and child health care programs which ensure a healthy outcome of pregnancy for both mother and child and to justify the withholding of funds which violate the right to life of the unborn child from conception”.
“Finally, it is our fervent hope that governments will begin to utilize their right to refer to existing international law to protect the unborn child from abortion.”
The SJA website goes on to detail how judges, lawyers, law professors, students and pro-life activists can use the conclusions of the San Jose Articles to oppose legalized abortion throughout the world. These are powerful concepts and legal principles we can make begin to make use of immediately.
In fabricating an “International Right To Abortion”, pro-abortion forces have hopefully overplayed their hand. The sheer ruthlessness of using the tactic to coerce developing nations into legalizing or expanding the abortion of their children has exposed the pro-abortion movement for the moral evil that it is.
If the pro-life community world-wide begins working in unison to promote the justice of San Jose Articles in their countries, we could be on the way to ending history’s greatest holocaust.
