Empire State’s Case Against Mother Teresa

August 26, 2010

Nothing hurts liberals like the truth about abortion

mother-teresa-holding-childToday is Mother Teresa’s 100th birthday. The little woman from Albania who devoted her life to the lepers, orphans and abandoned of India won the Nobel prize for her life of sacrifice for the poor and is on the fast track to sainthood in the Catholic Church. Even hardened atheists have expressed admiration for the nun who held countless numbers of the “least of our brethren” in her arms as they died.

Numerous events, around the world, have been planned to honor and celebrate Mother Teresa’s life and works. Except at the Empire State Building in Manhattan. Owner Anthony Malkin has flat out refused to honor Mother Teresa by changing the building’s lighting to blue and white for the day.

Malkin’s position has raised understandable ire, especially from the Catholic League’s lion-hearted president Bill Donohue.

In labeling Malkin’s refusal to participate in honoring Mother Teresa as Catholic bigotry, however, Bill Donohue is missing the point of the snub. John Paul II was honored after all.

So what’s not to like about Mother Teresa??? Easy. Mother Teresa was one of Christendom’s most outspoken opponents of abortion.

Murder By Any Other Name…

August 13, 2010

Pro-choice Christians need to stop and reflect about what they are really saying

pro-choice-christiansShakespeare wrote “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet”. Politicians generally try to bring it down to our level with “if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck… etc.

We cannot change the inherent nature of a thing, or an act, by calling it something else. Yet that is exactly how our pro-choice Christian brothers and sisters try to reconcile their Faith and conscience with their support of abortion.

The religion of liberalism gradually devours the soul, deadens the heart and numbs the intellect. So much so, that on the life and death issue of abortion, many highly intelligent Christian liberals function as little more than cult members, reciting the mantras of their leaders, without really comprehending what they say.

Witness the case in point of author Anne Rice’s recent interview on the Joy Behar Show, following Rice’s “I quit Christianity” announcement on Facebook.

Demonic Abortion

August 5, 2010

The spiritual battle against the insidiously evil institution of abortion

baby-being-sacraficed-to-baalIn our series on Bringing Christians Home On Abortion, we have discussed what abortion isn’t. We lay bare the lies promoted by radical feminism, the distant left and pro-life “clergy” that abortion is a poverty issue or a political issue. We have detailed how, demographically, abortion may threaten Christianity itself.

Now it is time to focus on the fundamental nature of abortion. Abortion is demonic. This is a simple statement of fact, but difficult, even for some pro-life Christians, to accept. This reluctance to label evil for what it is, is a by product of our country’s descent into secularism and moral relativity, and one of Satan’s most successful snares.

In order to raise the consciousness of our Christian nation over the true evil we face under the auspices of Roe v Wade, Reverend Thomas Euteneuer, of Human Life International, has published a new book which lays out in no uncertain terms the Satanic origins and nature of abortion. Demonic Abortion.

Abortion Is Not A Political Issue

June 27, 2010

The life of a helpless infant does not equate with taxes and spending

fetus-sucking-thumbOur series of articles on Bringing Christians Home On Abortion is directed toward this year’s crucial elections. Had just 10% of the Christians who voted for Barack Obama voted their Christian faith on abortion, America would be a different country today. Definitely something to think about.

Abortion has been sold to America as just about anything except what it really is. The taking of a child’s life. And the most successful ruse perpetrated by radical feminists and the abortion industry has been to frame abortion as a “political issue”.

Abortion Is Not A Poverty Issue

May 26, 2010

Pro-choice Christians view abortion as a “benefit” for the poor

pro-choice-clergyIn this article of our series Bringing Christians Home On Abortion we will address a common position taken by pro-choice Christian organizations. Their overwhelming concern for the poor is considered to be a far more important Christian issue than abortion.

The gospels do recount Jesus’ love for the poor and His admonitions to His followers to care for the poor. And all Christian denominations work to support the poor and to address the root causes of poverty.

But Our Lord was equally concerned for the dignity of the poor and, without doubt, the fate of their souls. As in “Man does not live by bread alone”.

Many, very well intentioned, pro-choice Christians have let themselves be led astray by the political argument that abortion is somehow a poverty issue. This “abortion benefits the poor” argument is, however, one which degrades women and families in poverty in the ugliest manner possible.

Bringing Christians Home On Abortion

May 1, 2010

The 2010 elections can be a critical turning point for America’s unborn

solemn-churchThe spring 40 Days For Life Campaign begins on February 17. During last fall’s campaign the lives of 571 babies were known to have been saved. With pro-life sentiment escalating in America, even happier results are expected from this spring’s endeavor which will be conducted in 163 cities across America.

Undaunted by the opposition of the most pro-abortion administration in the history of Roe v Wade, the pro-life community continues to work tirelessly to the win the war against abortion One Baby At A Time. The percentage of children saved from the abortion mills each year, however, still remains small.

But the 2010 elections offer the opportunity to begin stemming the tide of abortion on demand in a truly significant way. Hundreds of thousands of children can be saved in the coming years through the initiation of another type of national pro-life campaign.

Pro-Life Islam To Triumph?

April 22, 2010

Will pro-life Muslims simply overrun the Christian West?

savage-on-the-airDr Michael Savage, PHD, seems to be the 800 pound conservative talk show host the talk radio industry pretends doesn’t exist. Many will point to Savage’s often harsh characterizations of other big name talk personalities. And during his occasional binges of megalomania, a little Savage can go a long way.

But at his best, Michael Savage’s insight, on almost any topic, is profound beyond anyone else’s analysis. During a monologue last week on the spread of Islam, Savage wondered if God really cares which religion ultimately triumphs? Comparing Christianity, Judaism and Islam to branches of the same corporation, Savage wonders if God really prefers one to another.

As believers in Christ, we know the answer. Or do we?
