The Protect Life Act (HR 358) will seal the loopholes nested in Obamacare which allow federal tax dollars to be used to fund abortions, and strengthen federal Conscience Clause laws.
Anyone with an ounce of sense understood that any healthcare legislation written by abortion zealots Obama and Sebelius would include provisions for the use of tax dollars to subsidize abortion.
Which it did. Within 90 days newly created Obamacare “high risk insurance pools” began accessing federal taxpayer funds to provide coverage for elective abortions. When the details began to leak, the administration was forced to pull back on the funding.
This was essentially a money laundering scheme designed to benefit the abortion industry and similar attempts will continue unless explicitly prohibited by law.

Demand true conscience exemption for Christians opposed to Sebelius’ contraception mandate
As we noted in The Message Behind The Pill Mandate, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’ Obamacare mandate requiring all health insurance plans to automatically include full coverage of “contraception methods and contraceptive counseling” – including sterilizations and abortion-inducing drugs – is intended to establish a dangerous precedent on the power of government to establish limitations on freedom of religious expression.
The “pill” mandate signals a fundamental change in the relationship between the federal government under Barack Obama and every religious institution in America. “Conscience clauses” have traditionally exempted healthcare workers from participating in abortions and sterilizations, dispensing contraceptives and even conscientious objectors from going to war.
The token Obamacare conscience clause incorporated in Ms Sebelius’ mandate is, of course, a joke. It is critical for Christians of all denominations to contact their congressional representatives, before September 30, and ask them to vote for passage of the Respect For Rights Of Conscience Act (HR 1179/S. 1467).

Government says where religious freedoms begin and end
Obamacare never had anything to do with insurance costs or the well being of the American people. It was all about government control.
Yesterday government flexed its muscle when HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced “historic new guidelines” which require all health insurance plans to cover the entire costs of “contraception methods and contraceptive counseling”.
This is what Obamacare finally gives us. Not vitamins for pregnant women, children or seniors. Not childhood immunizations. Not antibiotics. Just mandatory free contraception – including abortion-inducing drugs and elective sterilizations.
Barack Obama and Kathleen Sebelius could care less about anyone’s cost of birth control per se. There is a two fold purpose to “the pill” mandate. First a windfall for the president’s beleaguered benefactor Planned Parenthood. Second, and equally as important, the president is sending a message to conservative Christians, particularly the Catholic Church.
Government decides where religious freedoms begin and end. Get used to it.

President Obama Proves Our Point

Any government healthcare program is based on rationing
America’s first Club Med president is temporarily back in Washington. Barack Obama’s New Year’s greetings to America’s elderly, however, is anything but happy.
The End of Life Counseling program, aka the “Death Panels” provision which public outrage drove out of the president’s healthcare legislation, was surreptitiously slipped into law as a Medicare rule effective January 1.
This mandate was issued by Dr Donald Berwick, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and a controversial proponent of increasing “end of life options”.
In going to such lengths to initiate EOLC, the president is proving the point he steadfastly denied throughout the healthcare debate. A point we have often made.
No government controlled healthcare program can function without rationing of treatment in order to control costs.

Obamacare medicare cuts leading doctors to drop elderly patients

Barely three months after being bribed and threatened through congress, Obamacare is being exposed for the big lie it had always been. Health insurance premiums continue to increase, employer based plans are being discontinued, Obamacare taxes on business burden an already crippled economy, and not one uninsured American will be covered until 2014.
Socialized medicine has failed miserably in every country in which it has been implemented. And rationing of treatment, beginning with the elderly, is by economic necessity part and parcel of every government healthcare program in existence.
So it begins in America, with the Healthcare Reform Act’s well publicized $500 billion of Medicare cuts which will, in effect, lower the cost of Medicare simply by reducing the number of doctors willing or able to treat the elderly.

Dear Sister Keehan
The fact that President Obama awarded you a Presidential Pen in recognition of your support for “healthcare reform”, would seem to indicate that your public contradiction of the US Conference Of Catholic Bishops on the abortion language in the bill played an important part in making Obamacare the law of our land.
The USCCB recently issued a statement pointing out that your open break with the bishops “lacked an understanding of these particular issues” and “resulted in confusion and a wound to Catholic unity”.
Now, as the evils nested in those thousands of pages of healthcare legislation are beginning to leak out, it may be an appropriate time for you, Sister Keehan, to reflect upon what your actions have wrought for the American people.

Abandoned Babies

The unborn were abandoned Sunday, and not just by Bart Stupak
How much was that Stupak in the window? We may never know in total.
For a start, 48 hours prior to Bart Stupak’s surrender of principles on abortion, three airports in his congressional district were awarded federal grants in excess of $700,000. Very likely, there were also some personal enticements involved.
But all in all, how much resistance could actually have been expected from a democratic congressman with a National Right To Life Committee rating of around 65%?
America’s babies were abandoned on Sunday, and not just by Bart Stupak. When the “Executive Order” on abortion funding, which President Obama fabricated to give Stupak cover, is tossed on the first court challenge it faces, there will be a lot of blame to go around for the escalating carnage sure to be inflicted upon our nation’s
unborn through Obamacare.

The 59,000 “Nuns” For Obamacare

Progressive Catholic social workers are not nuns
OMSNBC talk show hostess Rachel Maddow and liberal columnist E J Dionne, both long time critics of the Roman Catholic Church, suddenly find themselves full of admiration for “nuns”.
A stunning 59,000 “nuns” who, in defiance of the US Conference Of Catholic Bishops, have come out in favor of the abortion promulgating senate healthcare bill.
Maddow, at her “perkiest” best, asks “Who would you pick in a fight? Congressman Bart Stupak or 59,000 nuns?” Dionne titled his Washington Post Op-Ed column today “On Health Care, Listen To The Nuns”.
Well there are nuns, designated as such by the Catholic Church. And there are vocational sisters. And then there are “progressive Catholic” vocational sisters.
Anyone care to guess which classification fits the Maddow and Dionne ideal of “nuns”?.

Catholic Bishops are starting to say that “something has to be done”
“I talked to the Catholic bishops about this… This bill that passed the Senate does not have federal funding of abortion”. Catholic Speaker Of The House Nancy Pelosi lying, again, about abortion.
Though lying directly to the US Conference Of Catholic Bishops may be taking it up a notch, misleading people over abortion is nothing new for Ms Speaker.
Actually, the only time that “practicing Catholic” Pelosi even mentions the Catholic Church, is when she is blatantly distorting the Church’s Catechism on abortion in order to mislead and corrupt others.
In doing so, Nancy Pelosi is committing the scandal. Per the Catechism Of The Catholic Church, “Scandal is an attitude or behavior that leads another to do evil”. And Catholic Bishops are starting to say that “something has to be done”.

Government circumvention of America’s escalating pro-life sentiment
Though it might not seem so considering events in Washington, 2009 was a better year for the pro-life community than it was for Abortion Incorporated, the radical hardcore abortion lobby.
President Barack Obama, backed to the hilt by a progressive democratic leadership in congress, did everything his newly acquired power permitted in making good on his campaign commitments to the abortion industry that spent heavily to place him in the White House.
Yet for the first time in those 36 years a majority of Americans consider themselves to be pro-life. America is rethinking abortion and the struggle for the rights of America’s unborn is being won in hearts and minds across the country. But Americans will not be allowed to “choose” life without a fight. Abortion Inc intends to confront that escalating pro-life sentiment with the full force of the federal government.
